Here is a short article on our experience at Mediatech 2011. What we thought about it, and most importantly, did we enjoy it!

Getting There

The show was held at the Coca Cola Dome in Nothgate, Johannesburg. Was very easy to get to the location, with a lot of parking! Awesome!

Me and Markus went on the last day of the event, got there when the doors opened.

Firstly, I will recommend going early, there weren’t a lot of people, meaning we got better attention from the sales people.

When we registered, we got a bag of goodies. That was cool.

We got a year’s subscription to Screen Africa! Yay!

The stalls

There were a lot if interesting stalls, for example this one…

This stall was all about how they made the new Parletones 3d music video.

There were also this cool stand, with very cool lighting.

Presentations

Adobe had the best and most informative presentations.

It was awesome to see how powerful their software are, and they showed us things we didn’t know our software could do.

Always nice to learn something new.

New equipment

Look at this cool helicopter camera, easy way to do aerials!

The main thing that we noticed, was that everyone is focusing on DSLR video cameras.

DSLR video is the cheapest and easiest way to create awesome HD video.

Final cut and premier pro have integrated DSLR video into their editing suites.

There is also a lot of cool and different rigs for your DSLR.

I would recommend Mediatech to everyone!

Technology changes so fast, and we in the industry needs to be aware of all the new changes and happenings.

Mediatech was cool!
